To process a pledge and initial payment for the same new fund, a gift transmittal needs to be created for each. Only the new fund request for the pledge needs to be submitted, while the  fund request for the pledge will be saved as a draft and later linked. Once the new fund is opened,  the second gift transmittal can be completed.

Gather the necessary information and documentation for the pledge and initial payment.

  1. Initiate gift transmittal in Oracle Financials > Gift Transmittals system
  2. Complete gift transmittal
    • Specify to deposit gift in a new account/fund
  3.  Select Save and Submit
  1. Initiate gift transmittal for the pledge in Oracle Financials > Gift Transmittals system
  2. Complete the gift transmittal by assigning it to the org from which the new fund will be generated, but do not submit
  3. Select Save as draft
    The draft gift transmittal for the initial payment will remain in your queue. 
  1. Link the gift transmittals for the pledge and initial payment (refer to How to: Link or Unlink Gift Transmittals)
  1. Send all related documents, such as letters, notes and gift envelope, to Development Services
    • Checks and credit card gift forms may be sent via courier
    • Cash gifts must be hand-delivered
  1. Obtain new fund information from the email notification once the new fund for the gift transmittal for the pledge is opened
  2. Log in to Oracle Financials > Gift Transmittals
  3. Access the draft gift transmittal for the initial payment
  4. Enter existing fund information (refer to How to: Complete a Gift Transmittal; Step 5 - Specify New or Existing Account Information)
  5.  Complete the transmittal by selecting Save and Submit
