Effective June 2, 2025, BYOjet, the company that recently acquired StudentUniverse, will be discontinuing the StudentUniverse online booking portal. As a result, travelers will no longer be able to book flights through StudentUniverse.
Travelers who are planning upcoming travel are encouraged to choose one of the other Stanford Travel booking options instead. For guidance on booking student group travel, please reach out to the Stanford Travel team via a support request.
Continued support for current StudentUniverse bookings
StudentUniverse will continue to support travelers for the duration of any trips that were booked before June 2. These travelers can contact StudentUniverse directly if they need help with changing or canceling an existing reservation, as shown below:
- For assistance with a reservation made online, call 888-794-1296
- For assistance with a reservation made by an agent, call 617-202-3249

Launching fall 2025: A new booking option for students
The Stanford Travel team is excited to share that a new travel solution designed specifically for student travel, ScholarTrip, will join the Stanford Travel Program this fall. More details about this booking option will be shared soon on this page.
Action required: Schools and units whose websites include content about Stanford Travel booking options should remove references to StudentUniverse. Instead, due to the dynamic nature of the travel industry, FMS strongly recommends departments link directly to Fingate’s Stanford Travel Program page for guidance on booking options and avoid replicating content such as travel or business expense policies and guidance on their local websites or documentation. FMS maintains the Fingate website regularly, which serves as the source of truth for booking university-sponsored travel.
