The Stanford Travel Program provides a range of travel services to the Stanford University community. In its commitment to supporting Stanford travelers, the Stanford Travel team has formed partnerships with over 50 travel providers to secure negotiated discounts and exclusive benefits for hotels, airlines, and ground transportation. The team continuously works to negotiate competitive rates, delivering savings for both travelers and the university.
Throughout the 2024 fiscal year, which ended August 31, 2024, the Stanford Travel team continued to focus on delivering exceptional support and services to university travelers and travel arrangers. Here are just a few examples of the many ways the team supported campus:
- Launched Egencia’s Guest Registration Template feature, which streamlined the guest booking process for over 500 travel arrangers and their visitors.
- Implemented proactive notifications for unused tickets expiring within 60 days, to provide travelers and travel arrangers with customized options for maximizing use of the credit.
- As a result of the refund waiver exclusive to the Stanford Travel Program, over $17,000 in non-refundable United Airline tickets were refunded to departments.
- Enhanced resources and strategic communications, resulting in a 7% decrease in support requests submitted by campus clients. Received an average satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5 on resolved support requests.
- Hosted the in-person Stanford Travel Forum event, which had close to 300 attendees, and featured 30 suppliers, live Q&A sessions, and meet-and-greet opportunities with partners from Global Risk, the Financial Support Center, and Procurement Services.
- Participated in a wide variety of campus events to promote the Stanford Travel program and benefits, including the inaugural Stanford Event Planner Summit and the International Engagement Fair.
- Based upon feedback from channel followers, increased the frequency of important and timely travel updates and news shared on the Stanford Travel Slack channel (to join the channel, go to #fms-stanford-travel).
