Stanford’s Oracle Financials system is being upgraded in late May 2025. This upgrade will require a planned system outage outside of business hours from Friday, May 23 at 4 p.m. until approximately 1 p.m on Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day holiday).
Overview of changes
As part of Stanford’s Renew-Extend-Replace (RER) roadmap, the Oracle upgrade is part of the long-term program to leverage and extend current investments in enterprise systems and infrastructure.
This upgrade is primarily a technical upgrade with little to no impact on users but will result in a few minor user interface changes in the standard Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and custom Apex applications within Oracle Financials.
Examples of these changes include:
- Improved calendar date picker fields
- Static tables are converted to interactive grids
- Other minor user interface updates
Timing and user impact
Stanford intentionally plans the timing of major upgrades in such a way as to minimize user impact and optimize resource planning. As such, the system upgrade will start at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 23 and will run through 1 p.m. on Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day holiday). All modules within Oracle Financials, including iProcurement, ERS, etc. will be unavailable during this timeframe. In addition, connected systems like OBI, FFIT, and the mobile requisitions app will also be temporarily affected by the downtime.
