As of February 10, Stanford Travel Connect is available to all active Stanford faculty, staff, and students. The Stanford Travel Connect portal enables travelers to link multiple personal airline loyalty accounts to the Stanford Travel Program. Once linked, travelers can book university-sponsored travel directly on the airline’s website or app and access Stanford-negotiated discounts and exclusive benefits. The airlines currently available for linking through Stanford Travel Connect are United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines, with plans to include more as they come online in the future.

Stanford Travel Connect features and benefits

Once your loyalty account has been linked, you’ll have access to:

  • Stanford’s negotiated discounts, which will automatically apply.
  • Specialized assistance provided by the Stanford Travel team, as needed.
  • Promotional offers exclusive to the Stanford Travel Program.
  • Automatic reservation registration and updates  in the Travel Registry, which connects the reservation to Stanford’s provider of traveler assistance.
  • Increased priority for re-accommodation in the event of a travel disruption
  • Some airlines may also provide personal travel discounts to travelers who register with Stanford Travel Connect.
How is it different from other Stanford Travel booking options, like Egencia or Key Travel?

Stanford Travel Connect is a linking portal, not a booking tool. After linking their personal loyalty account to the Stanford Travel Program, travelers who book directly on the airline's website or app will see Stanford’s discounts applied to airfare. There is no need to return to the Stanford Travel Connect portal unless the traveler would like to link another loyalty account.

Who should consider using Stanford Travel Connect?

Stanford Travel Connect is a great option for individual travelers who prefer to book their flight arrangements directly with the airlines through their app or website. At this time, Stanford Travel Connect does not support travel arranger functionality. 

What if I am already enrolled in United Corporate Direct (UCD)?

Current UCD members do not need to take any action to continue to benefit from and access the same benefits and discounts. United Corporate Direct is still available through the Stanford Travel Program, however, new enrollment in UCD will now be completed through the Stanford Travel Connect portal. Travelers will only need to return to the portal to link additional airlines as they come online.
