Set Up PTA Nicknames and Favorite Group of Accounts in CMS

Setup favorites in Commitment Management System (CMS), including PTA nicknames and group of accounts (PTAs). Favorites are only seen by you while nicknames can be seen and utilized by all who have CMS authority for the PTA.

Set Up PTA Nicknames in CMS

Setting up PTA nicknames allows you to quickly search for accounts in CMS. Schools and departments should consider creating PTA nickname guidelines. Nicknames are unique to the PTA, and can be seen and utilized by all who have CMS authority for the PTA. A nickname must be unique – it cannot be used by any other CMS user for any other PTA.

  1. Go to Oracle Financials
  2. Select Login
  3. Enter SUNet ID and password, if prompted

  1. Select SU CMS USER

  1. Select Setup tab
  2. Enter account (PTA) search criteria from the Setup screen
  3. Select Go – Execute Your Search

  1. Find PTA in search results
  2. Select Manage PTA Nickname tab
  3. Type a unique name for the PTA (maximum 25 characters) in the Nickname field
  4. Select Save

  • Use your nickname as the search criteria to quickly access account information.

Set Up Favorite Group of Accounts (PTAs) in CMS

Setting up favorites allows you to organize your accounts (PTAs) into functional groups. Favorites can be used to quickly display the PTAs you wish to work with.

  1. Go to Oracle Financials
  2. Select Login
  3. Enter SUNet ID and password, if prompted

  1. Select SU CMS USER

  1. Select Setup tab
  2. Enter account (PTA) search criteria from the Setup screen
  3. Select Go – Execute Your Search

  1. Find PTA in search results
  2. Select Manage My Favorites tab
  3. Select the check box(es) for the PTAs that you want to add to the new Favorite group
  4. In the Select pulldown, choose Create New, then enter a name in the box to the immediate right 
    1. Type a unique name for the PTA (maximum 25 characters) in the Nickname field
  5. Select Save
What Happens Next?
  • Use the My Favorites view filter in the Advanced Search to retrieve the newly created group. You can efficiently run reports based on favorite account groupings.
  • Manage the PTAs in your favorite groups or create new favorites at any time from the Setup tab.
