Manage Alerts in CMS

This page provides instructions for managing CMS alerts in specified time period for employee labor, students or good and services.

Manage Alerts in CMS

Any alerts you do not manually remove will be automatically deleted in 90 days.

  1. Enter ofweb.stanford.edu in the browser
  2. Click Login
  3. As prompted, log in using SUNet ID and password

  1. Click SU CMS USER

  1. Select Setup tab
  2. Enter account (PTA) search criteria from the Setup screen
  3. Select Go – Execute Your Search

  1. Select Alert tab
  2. Enter account (PTA) search criteria from the Account Balances screen
  3. Select Go – Execute Your Search

  1. Select one of the following tabs: Employee Labor, Student or Goods & Services
  2. Select the period for which you want to view alerts (Last 30, 60, or 90 days)
  3. Select Show Removed Alerts or Hide Removed Alerts from the drop-down menu
  4. Interpret alerts and take appropriate action using the table below:
Type of Alert

Reason for Alert A Hard Salary Distribution Commitment has been updated in CMS with no corresponding update to your forecast. A Hard Salary/FTE Commitment has been updated and has automatically replaced your CMS forecast entry. A People or Goods & Services Hard Commitment has been updated in CMS with no related CMS forecasts.
Recommended Action

Review the Hard Commitment change
Click "Reset CMS to Match Hard" button on the page to delete the employee/student forecast

Modify current employee/student forecast and remove alert

Review the Hard Commitment change
Remove Alert as desired
Review the Hard Commitment change
Remove Alert as desired

  1. Review where hard commitment change(s) occurred as indicated by a "Y" in the Hard Commitment Change Type section  A corresponding "Y" in the CMS Override section lets you know which of your forecast entries was impacted.
  2. Select the checkbox in the Remove column to remove alerts
  3. Select Save
