United MileagePlus members can book flights on United through Stanford Travel.
- United MileagePlus members can book on united.com or the United app. Book airfare only. Car rental, hotel and packages do not qualify for United Corporate Direct.
- Stanford-negotiated rates will display.
- Book up to eight travel companions on the same reservation.
- Ability to view and apply business travel credits online (where permitted) without the assistance of a United agent.
- Pay with a Stanford Travel Card (TCard, preferred) or personal credit card.

All reservations are automatically registered in the university’s Travel Registry, which connects to Stanford’s provider of medical, personal, travel and security assistance.
- Review the United Corporate Direct overview document.
- Complete the United Corporate Direct Enrollment Form (A United MileagePlus number is required. To enroll in MileagePlus, complete the MileagePlus Enrollment Form).
- After 2-3 business days, your MileagePlus account will be linked to United Corporate Direct.
- Once the account has been linked, the Business Travel booking option will be available for selection after logging in to your MileagePlus account on united.com or the United App.
When completing the Expense Reimbursement request, select Stanford Travel – United Corporate Direct as the Booking Method and attach a copy of the booking confirmation showing “Discounts applied for Stanford”.
United Airlines offers a personal travel discount for members of Stanford’s United Corporate Direct (UCD) program.
The “Break from Business” discount includes:
- Up to 10% discount on domestic travel, with varying discounts on international travel.
- Ability to book up to eight travel companions on the same reservation.
This discount is valid for U.S. Point of Origin to all destinations, as well as Canada, Latin America and EMEAI Point of Origin to U.S. destinations. The discount is valid on United-marketed flights operated by United Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Canada, and All Nippon Airways.
To access these rates:
- Log in to your MileagePlus account.
- Select Personal Travel on united.com or Break from Business discount if using the United App.
- The results page will display fares with the Break from Business discount automatically applied.
