Quick Steps: Update an Authorized Payer's Email Address
Who does this? Stanford Students
When? An Authorized Payer changes their email address.
How? Using the Stanford ePay web application, the student must delete the original Authorized Payer's profile and then add them as a NEW Authorized Payer. Note - The Authorized Payer will need a new Login name and password. The old Login name and password will not work even after the profile is deleted.
Update an Authorized Payer's Email Address (3 steps)
Launch the Stanford ePay home page:
- Launch Axess at https://axess.stanford.edu/.
- Enter your SUNet ID and password as prompted.
- Click the link on the Web Authentication window.
- Select the Home or Finances tab.
- Click Stanford ePay Login link.
Note: Check the Message Board for important messages.
Delete the Authorized Payer from your Stanford ePay account:
- Click Authorized Payer from the left hand menu options.
- Click the Delete icon next to the name of the Authorized Payer you wish to delete.
- Click OK.
- Click Yes button to confirm deletion.
Note: A page will display your current list of Authorized Payers.
Note: As a result of the deletion, a system generated email will be sent to the Authorized Payer informing them that they are no longer authorized to access the student account.
Add the Authorized Payer back to your Stanford ePay account:
- Click Authorized Payer from the left hand menu options.
- Click Add New.
- Enter the Name of the Authorized Payer.
- Enter a user name for the Authorized Payer in the Create Login Name field.
- Enter a temporary Password for the Authorized Payer.
- To Confirm Password, re-enter the temporary password.
- Enter the Authorized Payers new Email address.
- Click Add button.
Note: A page will display your current list of Authorized Payers (if any).
Note: The Authorized Payer will need a new Login name and password. The old one will not work even though the profile has been deleted.
Note 1 – IMPORTANT: User name and password are case-sensitive. Be sure to provide the exact user name and password to your authorized payer(s).
Note 2: Password and Login Name must be at least six (6) characters long and should include alpha and numeric characters.

Note: The Authorized Payer will be added back to your list of Authorized Payers.
What Happens Next?
- The Authorized Payer will receive a system generated email. The email includes the Authorized Payer's new user name and instructs them to contact the student to learn their new password (Note: User name and password are case-sensitive).
- The student should provide the Authorized Payer with the temporary password they created.
- Once the Authorized Payer logs into Stanford ePay with the temporary password provided by the student, the system will prompt them to reset their password.
