Overview: Determining Best Purchasing Method
Over two million items are available in Stanford’s SmartMart. In general, this is the most efficient and cost effective method for purchasing items. Use the decision tree below to understand when other purchasing methods should be used.
* You cannot order radioactive products on an RPO. Use SmartMart or Standard Purchase Order.
** You cannot order chemicals or radioactives on a Purchasing Card. Use SmartMart or Standard Purchase Order.
