What Is the StanfordCardPlan?
The StanfordCardPlan is a pre-paid expense plan that enables students, faculty and staff to use their Stanford ID card as a debit card to purchase goods and services on campus. The StanfordCardPlan is also available to courtesy card holders. For example, with the StanfordCardPlan, the Stanford ID card can be used to pay for meals at many campus cafes and for purchases at the Stanford Bookstore and Tresidder Express convenience store. The StanfordCardPlan also allows ID cards to be used in vending machines and copiers.

- Alumni Café
- Arbuckle Café at GSB
- Jamba Juice
- Jimmy's Sports Cafe
- Moon Bean’s
- Peets
- Stanford Bookstore
- Treehouse
- Tresidder Express
- Tresidder Union Square
- Track House
- University Dining Services locations
- Copy machines and printers in libraries and computing labs
- Printing in residence and other computing labs
- Campus vending machines
How Do I Put Money on My StanfordCardPlan?
The StanfordCardPlan is automatically available for Stanford ID cardholders. There are three ways to put money on your card:
- You can have funds deducted from your paycheck and deposited directly to your StanfordCardPlan. This can be done online in Axess. See Quick Steps: Elect Payroll Deduction for StanfordCardPlan.
- You can deposit funds to your account in person at the University Cashier's Office.
- You can deposit funds in one of the Cash-to-Card machines located around campus.
- Students can add money for immediate use to their StanfordCardPlan through Stanford ePay, via Axess.
When you make a deposit to your account, you affirm that you have read and agree with the Terms and Conditions of the StanfordCardPlan.
