About the StanfordCardPlan?
Through August 31, 2009, the StanfordCardPlan is a pre-paid expense plan that enables students, faculty and staff to use their Stanford ID card as a debit card to purchase goods and services on campus. The StanfordCardPlan is also available to courtesy card holders. For example, with the StanfordCardPlan, the Stanford ID card can be used to pay for meals at many campus cafes and for purchases at the Stanford Bookstore and Tresidder Express convenience store. The StanfordCardPlan also allows ID cards to be used in vending machines and copiers.
Effective September 1, 2009, the StanfordCardPlan will be offered to students only and will allow them to make purchases of up to $1,000 per quarter at the Stanford Bookstore and other on-campus locations. The purchases will be charged directly to the student’s University bill. This change accommodates the needs of students who often must purchase books and other necessities early in the quarter before their financial aid is available. In order to participate in the new StanfordCardPlan, students will need to accept the 2009-10 Terms and Conditions of the StanfordCardPlan. The 2009-10 Terms and Conditions will be posted at this site on or before September 1, 2009.
The StanfordCardPlan will no longer be available for use by faculty and staff. We encourage faculty and staff to consider the Cardinal Dollars program, administered by Stanford Dining. Cardinal Dollars offers excellent options and money-saving plans for dining on campus using your Stanford ID card.
