College Savings Plans
Stanford is a member college of the 529 College Saving Plan called the Independent 529.
This plan allows you to prepay tuition today that your student can later use at any member college, providing a guarantee against tuition inflation. Independent 529 Plan has no start-up fees, no maintenance fees, and no annual fees, and is free from federal taxes.

Prepayment of Tuition
Stanford University does not offer formal prepayment plans. However, if you or your student is interested in paying tuition beyond the current term, and require special instructions, please call 650-723-2181, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM PST, or submit a HelpSU ticket. We ask that you let us know of any special circumstances which require special handling of the prepayment.
